and prime setting – 1+ acre, a wooded lot, or on an artificial pond – so you have something to see from your wall of windows.

But you’ll have to wade through homes on the market that:

are near drawbacks like power lines
are listed for 30%+ more than the seller paid at the peak of the market in 2006
have custom upgrades and decor from the last owner
or are in areas where you will be surrounded by vacant lots and construction for years at the current pace of new home construction
