Kitchens and baths get lots of attention on HGTV, but bedrooms are still the heart of a house. Let’s face it, a house can have the best kitchen in the neighborhood, but if it has two bedrooms and you have four children, it won’t work for you.
With that in mind, I made two graphs of data from homes that sold during 2006 through the South Bend – Mishwaka MLS (click on the image for detail). The first is the list price by bedroom and the second is the number of sales by bedroom. Both seem to show that three bedrooms is a turning point and that there is minimal demand for one bedroom residences.
