South Bend has highways named for the
25th (McKinley Avenue) and
16th (Lincolnway) presidents, which may be appropriate since they lived tumultuous lives that ended in assasination. However it also has
East Monroe Street, named for our
5th president who’s tenure was known as “The Era of Good Feelings.” Based on the attractive homes, the treed front lawns, and its proximity to both School Field and downtown South Bend, it also seems to be aptly named.
