Foreclosures continue to make the headlines, yet they’ve been difficult to search online. There are a few subscription sites that offer details on bank owned homes, but many of the homes on those sites have already sold.

Today, I’m happy to open a beta version of realst8.com’s South Bend Area Foreclosure Search. It is in development and has a few bugs, but you can search all the bank owned properties listed for sale by a Realtor in the Greater South Bend-Mishawaka MLS by map or on a table. You can also filter the results displayed by city, number of bedrooms, or zip-code.

This foreclosure search is beta, so it is likely to change both form and function in the future. In the meantime, please try it and send feedback. Are there any details you wish were displayed that aren’t? Do you wish you could search by “days on the market” or sort by 2007 tax bills? Send me feeback by e-mail or in the comments and I’ll try to make it more useful.

  1. That is excellent. Good work.

The one improvement I would like to see is for there to be a listing price range drop box. Either a text box where the user can type their own numbers, or you could come up with your own ranges that the user clicks on. (0 – $10k, $10k – $20k, $20k – 30k, etc.)

  2. As expected, North Douglas Condos are DEAD….or at least dead to the point that no new buildings will be part of that condo… Like I said, should have been apartments all along!

Is Cleland Homes still in business??? Or is just this project dead? Any help would be appreciated as I know people with deposits on the ND Condos!

    1. Cleland Homes is still in business. The North Douglas Condos project has hit a wall. There is discussion of a sale of the project for conversion to rental apartments, or of the bank foreclosing, but the final outcome is still unclear. Rezoning of the project is currently an agenda item for the Mishawaka City Council in early May.

  3. Glad to hear Cleland Homes is still in business. As far as North Douglas Condos, it should have been apartments from the beginning, live and learn I guess. So, the following started projects are done (maybe more): North Douglas Condos, Woodbridge Villas, Keenan Court Townhomes….. Any others? Will be interesting to see how Ivy Quad and Eddy Street Common fares in this environment….

  4. Ivy Quad seems to be a bit behind schedule….anyone have any information on this? According to their website Building 1 “March – Model & first 8-units complete” and Building 2 “May ’09 – Three Ardeen and Three Clare available”. I don’t think any are ready are they??? It looks like, front what I can see on site and their site plan, that four buildings 1-4 will need to have the foundations in for the first building can really be occupied since the quad needs to be built up first, no?
